PHILOSOPHY

I believe in equity in education: that regardless of background, every student is afforded the opportunity to realize their ultimate potential.

Every student is different, and I believe these differences are opportunities, not obstacles, for learning.

I believe in building and leveraging relationships with all stakeholders in education: students, parents, staff and the greater community. Relationships are the currency of the education profession; the dynamics of one's relationships are an essential component of moving students toward success.

During my time as a lead teacher, data was the focus of interactions with my colleagues. At times, it might be a low inference transcript of a lesson I observed; sometimes it was looking at multiple choice assessment data. Regardless of the method used to dig down into where learning was breaking down, data would be the common language for our work.
